I really wish Argos would stop fobbing Christmas adverts on me in October. It's far to early.

Also, I really hate Halloween. Well, not so much Halloween but the annoying people outside having fun whilst I'm stuck inside writing the draft intro to my thesis cos my supervisor's moved up the deadline by a week.

*Is stressed and annoyed*

The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith Part 2

-I am so so glad Peter wasn't evil. But poor Sarah Jane. :(

-I am also so glad that Ten didn't bring the emo with him.

-I love how the Doctor acknowledges the awesomeness of the Bannerman Road team.

-Clyde totally saved the day.

-Awh, I really want the kids to travel in the TARDIS. They can travel with Eleven and Amy, yes?

-Needs more K9 and Mr Smith. And more Gita and Haresh, please.

So I was totally glad to here we were going to see the back of Ten <strike>but mostly Rusty</strike> when Tennant announced he was leaving and I think Eleven is going to be awesome. But now I remember how much I used to love him and kinda still do - New years is gonna be a tearfest. *Clings to Ten*
And also - the Doctor so knows he's going to die soon doesn't he?
And that last scene with SJ was totally a goodbye to the fans from Tennant. *Crys*

Waters of Mars on the 15th! That is so soon. Yay!

-Lol at the kids using Mr Smith to spy on SJ, and Clyde's reaction at seeing she has a boyfriend.

-TARDIS NOISES!!!! - either it's being blocked or the Doctor's just a rubbish pilot.

-Oh, K9 and Mr Smith - I love you both so much. Please continue to bitch for ever and ever. And lol at them totally ratting the kids out to SJ.

-Rani bossing Clyde about - I ship them so hard, they're my OTP of the SJA.

-K9 can hover?!?

-Clyde I love how you are so suspicious. And bringing K9 to the wedding! Brilliant.

- Gita and Haresh continue to be awesome.

-Oh, hey Doctor, nice of you to show up. Perfect timing. (Was it just me, or was K9 the only one who seemed remotely happy to see him?)

Is it tomorrow yet?

Have been listening to more Lucie/Eight Big Finish audios. The Lucie/Eight dynamic is similar to the Donna/Ten dynamic, yes? Except less emo-angst in the former.

Also, I think I have become obsessed with the Sarah Jana Adventures a little more than is considered healthy.

How much do I really need a degree anyway?

Have started my final year at uni. It is rather scary and foreboding. Also means I am going to have to start applying for proper jobs and such real soon. Which is lame because I have just gotten use to being a poor student, lazing about and not really doing very much of anything.
Uni starting also means new flatmates. Have three of them. Seen three of them, but haven't actually met any of them. I predict a nice quiet flat this year. This is good as I have a Big Nasty Thesis to write.

I seem to be developing some type of virus in the back of my throat. It's all flemmy and sore and rather difficult to breathe at times. Thankfully, I have my trusty Beechams blackcurrant flavoured flu-relief drink, which seems to be helping.

In other news (more specifically DW related news): I have finally fallen in love with Eight! Thank you, Big Finish. I have been listening to the NEA series. Am also rather in love with Lucie. And now I want Eight/Lucie shipfic, but can't seem to find any anywhere. This sucks. Please remedy internets, thanks.

That is all.

DW fic: Parking Violations

Title: Parking Violatoins
Author: Crytears
Pairing/Characters: Seven, Ace
Rating: PG
Word count: 1,611
Summary: Seven and Ace have a run in with the Judoon.
Disclaimer: All recognizable characters belong to the BBC.
A/N: This fic is not meant to be taken seriously. At all. Thanks to the lovely fearlessfirefly for the beta.

He knew he shouldn’t do it, but the Doctor was never one to follow standard intergalactic decorum, so did it anyway. Thus, it didn’t really come as a surprise when the three Judoon entered the diner, their big eyes set upon him and his oblivious companion. Shame really, he was rather looking forward to that cheese burger.

The Doctor flagged down their waiter, a Belljurion hunchback with a rather aggressive manner. This was expected, really, since all Belljurion’s were rather aggressive. A positively miserable species, the Doctor thought. The Belljurion’s were famous for their chain of diners all throughout the galaxy and why in the universe they ever got into customer service was beyond the Doctor’s vast comprehension.

“Can we have those cheese burgers to go, please?” The Doctor asked, eyes still on the Judoon. The Belljurion merely grunted in reply and stalked off.

“Charming fellow, don’t you think?” The Doctor asked his companion rhetorically.

She shrugged in reply. The Doctor was too busy trying to make himself look invisible to notice.

Slouching down as far as he possibly could, the Doctor watched as the Judoon troop made their way from the diner’s double-door entrance towards their (the Doctor only just realised) rather well lit corner. For three daft seconds, the Doctor contemplated putting his umbrella up and hiding beneath it, but then promptly decided against it – it wasn’t exactly raining after all, and well . . . the Judoon may have evolved from rhinos, but they weren’t that stupid.

“Doctor, what the hell are you doing?” Ace asked, smiling weakly at their waiter who was positively glaring at them, their cheese burgers promptly forgotten in his hands.

“Hmm . . . what?” The Doctor started. “Oh, nothing, nothing.” Sitting up straighter in his chair, the Doctor blasted Ace with his most charming smile, creeping Ace out to no end.

The Judoon continued to advance, hands on nasty looking disruptor weapons.

The Doctor stood abruptly, grabbing their food from the still glaring Belljurion and dropped whatever passed for legal tender in this corner of the Universe on the table, hoping it was enough to cover their bill. No need to stoke the flames, so to speak. The Judoon were relentless for following Galactic law to a T.

“Time to be going, I think.” The Doctor said, pulling on Ace’s arm and heading for the general direction of the loos, all the while ignoring her sputtered protests and questions.

The Doctor took them past the men’s room, paused for a moment outside the ladies, and opted instead for the variations thereupon.

Shoving the cheese burgers in Ace’s arms, the Doctor rummaged in his pockets for his sonic screwdriver, locking the door with a quick sonic burst.

“Doctor, what are we doing in here? And what the hell were those rhino things?” Ace asked.

Surveying the restroom, the Doctor appeared oblivious of Ace’s presence.

“There isn’t a window. Why isn’t there a window?” The Doctor asked no-one in particular.

“How should I know?” Ace retorted incredulously. “Doctor, seriously, what is going on?” Ace stared at the alien who she had fondly come to think of as an uncle. The sort of uncle who was a bit mad, and who everyone accidentally-on-purpose forgot to invite to parties.

“Oh, nothing too serious. I may have slightly parked the Tardis in a no-parking zone.” The Doctor said, running his hands along the walls apparently looking for an escape route and failing spectacularly.

“How do you slightly park the Tardis?” Ace wondered, tossing their cheese burgers in a near by bin, having suddenly just lost her appetite. She knew that look. The Doctor’s evasive I’m-not-going-to-tell-you-until-it’s-absolutely-necessary look. She hated that look. Ace felt a sudden urge to make sure she was well stocked up on nitro-9.

“Hmm?” Abandoning his search of the walls, the Doctor took for the nearest stall. Sitting on the toilet, he leaned forward using his umbrella for support, his chin resting on the handle as he stared at the wall.

“Oh, look! Someone’s wrote a poem,” the Doctor exclaimed, perking up slightly. “’There once was a young lady from Venus, whose body was shaped like a –‘“

A loud bang on the door interrupted the Doctor’s recital.

“The Judoon!” The Doctor exclaimed as though he had totally forgotten about them. He jumped suddenly to his feet and dashed to Ace’s side.

“The what?” Ace asked.

“Those rhino things,” the Doctor replied. “They’re probably here about that parking violation . . . ” He trailed off, desperation beginning to set into his features. The Judoon continued to bang on the door from the other side.

“They’re a kind of intergalactic police force,” the Doctor continued to explain. “Well, more like intergalactic thugs,” he muttered.

“So, they’re here to give you a parking ticket then?” Ace asked, looking slightly worried. The Doctor was being the exact opposite of vague. Not a good sign. Ace slipped her hand into her jacket pocket, wrapping her hand around the nitro-9 she was ‘not’ carrying.

“Actually, I think they might want to arrest me. Something about an overdue fine . . .” He said surreptitiously.

“Doctor!” Ace shot the Doctor a look, clearly not impressed. She could tell he was lying.

“Several overdue fines, then.” The Doctor snapped. “It’s hardly my fault!”

“Oh, Professor . . .”

The Judoon had ceased their relentless banging on the door. Ace and the Doctor both turned as one to face the door and could here the Judoon arguing amongst themselves from the other side of the door.

“Now, now, gentlemen. No need to quarrel,” the Doctor shouted through the door. He tightened his grasp on his umbrella --- a trait of his that Ace observed was most evident when he was waffling his way out of a dire situation.

Just then, the Judoon’s gruff voice barked through the door. “Charge: parking violation and failure to pay fines. Plea: guilty. Sentence: execution.”

The Doctor looked wildly about him, the image of the Judoon’s large disruptor weapon thrusting its way to the forefront of his mind and his eyes finally settled on Ace.

“I really think this room could do with a window, don’t you?” He asked, looking pointedly at Ace’s bulging pockets.

Ace grinned.

*

On the other side of the door, the Belljurion waiter did not look too happy about being told what to do by the three Judoon. And it was with a certain degree of malicious pleasure that the Belljurion took as much time as possible to unlock the door.

Apparently losing his patience fast, the lead Judoon pulled his weapon from its holster, pushed the waiter out of the way and aimed for the door.

But before he could pull the trigger there was a loud explosion.

The Judoon made a strangled sound in his throat (the kind of sound that, if he were human, would probably sound like a high pitched frustrated scream) and promptly kicked the door down.

Still lying on floor where he had landed, the Belljurion waiter narrowly avoided being trampled on by the other two Judoon as they followed their superior.

The Belljurion grumbled irritably as he scrambled to his feet and surveyed the damage. The mess was unbelievable; it was going to take him hours to clean up. They really didn’t pay him enough for this.

*

The Doctor and Ace ran as fast as they could in the general direction of the Tardis.

Running for their lives was an everyday occurrence. Running for their lives because of a few overdue parking tickets was a bit extreme. But it was the Doctor . . . and, well, Ace had learned to take things in stride over the years with him --- very little surprised her any more.

They reached the Tardis breathing heavily, pausing for a moment to catch their breath.

“Doctor, how could you miss that?” Ace cried suddenly, pointing at a big sign sitting right next to the Tardis. In rather large, bold red letters were the words: ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. VIOLATORS WILL BE PUNISHED.

The Doctor glanced at the warning, looked at Ace, then back at the sign again. He didn’t even have the decency to pretend to look remorseful.

Instead, he stared at Ace giving her a very significant look, and said: “Well, you didn’t notice it either.” The Doctor looked rather pleased with himself, twirling his umbrella in his hands.

“But, I wasn’t driving!”

A disruptor blast chose that moment to stream past them, narrowly missing the Doctor’s left ear. It hit the 'no parking' sign, unceremoniously obliterating it into a heap on the ground.

“Time to be going!” The Doctor exclaimed, chasing after Ace who was already half way into the Tardis.

The Doctor rushed to the console and pressed, prodded and flicked the necessary switches to start the de-materialisation process.

Once they were safely in the vortex, the Doctor and Ace allowed themselves to relax. Ace’s stomach rumbled loudly --- they never did get those cheese burgers.

Seemingly thinking the same thing the Doctor piped up, “there’s a restaurant at the end of the universe . . . they do a rather nice crème brûlée . . .”

“Well, as long as you’re not on their top ten most wanted list,” Ace said, grinning.

“Oh, no. Definitely not,” the Doctor said, setting the coordinates. He stilled for moment, looking at Ace very seriously. “Although, remind never to materialize the Tardis on Lervalla III.”

To Ace’s utter astonishment, the Doctor shuddered slightly as he spoke. Her jaw fell open and she stared at him incredulously.

The Doctor laughed. “I’m joking, Ace.”

“Professor . . .”

Doctor Who audio's

So, I may be a bit late to the party, but I just discovered that Big Finish is releasing this: An Earthly Child.

I'm awfully excited. I've always had a fascination with the Doctor's grand-daughter, and I've been frustrated on numerous occasions by the lack of back story for Susan. So hopefully we'll get some info (even if it's not entirely considered as canon by some folks!)

DW: More Ten/Christina fic

Title: Friends
Author: Crytears
Pairing/Characters: Ten, Christina, slight mention of Donna.
Prompt: Friends
Rating: G
Summary: The doctor remembers an old friend. AU, just pretend Ten met Christina later and they went off to have adventures.
Author Note: Slight spoilers for Silence in the Library, if you squint. And obviously spoilers for PotD. Taken from the list of prompts here.

“I hate you.”

“S’nnn aalt.” The Doctor said, sonic screwdriver in mouth.

“What?”

“I said: it’s not my fault.”

“Right, because insulting the Princess of Nagaba was a complete accident.” Christina said, not in the slightest convinced.

“It was! How was I suppose to know the Nagabas found tulips offensive?” The doctor huffed indignantly.

“I thought you knew everything.” Christina shot back sarcastically.

“Well, not everything. Most things. Some things. A lot of things.”

“Except that insulting Nagaba royalty can get you the death penalty?”

“Except that, yes.” The doctor went back to fiddling with the door. It was made of wood.

“Oh, move out of the way, will you.” Christina pushed the doctor out of the way, lifted a leg and kicked the cell door open. The doctor stared, mouth agape.

“Come on! Let’s get out of here.” Christina grabbed the doctor’s arm, pulling him along with her.

Back at the TARDIS, the Doctor still stared open mouthed.

“What?”

“Nothing. You just reminded me of a friend.” The doctor stared off in the distance, totally forgetting his surroundings and Christina.

“She kicked down a door once.”

“It’s lucky you have so many great friends who know how to kick down doors then,” said Christina, the beginnings of a smirk on her face.

The doctor grinned. “Have I mentioned how brilliant you are?”

“Well, somebody has to make sure you don’t get yourself accidently executed.” Christina replied modestly. “But, yes. I am rather brilliant, aren’t I?”
DW: Ten/Christina drabble

Title: Chocolate
Author: Crytears
Pairing/Characters: Ten, Christina
Prompt: Chocolate
Rating: G
Summary: Drabble, slightly over 100 words. The doctor demands chocolate.
Author Note: Taken from the list of prompts here.

“You owe me an Easter egg.”

“What?”

“An Easter egg. I gave you mine on the bus, remember? Now you owe me.”

“I don’t think so.” Christina said. “Just because I asked you for lift after my bus broke down, doesn’t mean-“

“It wouldn’t have broken down if you had used the clutch properly!”

“Excuse me! It’s not my fault your stupid gravity clamps fell off! It’s lucky I wasn’t in the air at the time.”

“Yeah, well… sorry about that.” The doctor had the decency to look sheepish. “How about I take us out for some chips?” The doctor grinned.

Christina grinned back. “Yeah, alright then.”

“Brilliant, c’mon.” The doctor reached the TARDIS door before turning round to face Christina, grin gone. “Can I borrow a fiver?”
DW Easter Special

Actually, I rather loved Planet of the Dead. The only complaint I really have is Michelle Ryan's accent and the fact that I kept expecting her to shout: "YOU AIN'T MY MOTHER!"

I love how no matter what's going on the Doctor always knows what time of year it is on Earth and comes prepared! Would you accept a piece of Easter egg from a strange man on a bus?

Yay UNIT - was not expecting them at all, but was pleasantly surprised! (Although, Murray Gold has changed the UNIT song again, and it just keeps getting more annoying).

I loved how Christina took charge and was pretty awesome at it. I liked how she knew when to let the Doctor take over for the science stuff - they make a excellent team! I would have liked her to be the next companion.

I was actually gutted when the two Fly/Alien things were killed. The Doctor speaking to them in their language was pretty funny.

Ten wasn't annoying in this episode. That surprised me. He was not whiny or emo at all (apart from the brief Donna mention). This was good.

"You look human." "You look Timelord." -- I loved this so fucking much. The look on Ten's face...

Can I have a UNIT spin-off with Malcolm, Captain Magambo and Martha, please? Thanks.

RTD, why does Ten have to kiss every female companion?! He's such a whore (I know the Doctor didn't initiate it, but, come on!) At least this one wasn't as out of place as the kiss with Astrid.

One other thing that bothered me: the Doctor complains so much about UNIT and their guns, yet he keeps getting people jobs there! Make your mind up!

RTD, why is your foreshadowing never subtle? I'm assuming 'he will knock four times' is referring to the Master. John Simm? Or someone else?

Rather good stuff, yes!

Listening to the Lost soundtrack is not good for my health.
I'm so freakin' bored, I hate weekends.
Also, I've been extremely tired for the past two weeks, even when I've been getting about 8 hours sleep every night! What the hell is up with my body/ brain (cause it seems the most tired)!?

My Freema Agyeman obsession has started again, but that's never a bad thing. I've been re-watching series 3 of Doctor Who - are they ever gonna follow-up on that Queen Elizabeth thing with Ten, or are they just going to ignore it?

I'm sure there was a point to this post... but I'm not entirely sure what.

Obama's speech was... wow. Now I hope that he follows through and we can see some change happening, not only in America, but around the world.

Bush is finally gone! Yay!

Time Lords, Demons and Mummy's

Doctor Who: Ok, I actually really like the guy they picked for eleven, even though I've never seen him in anything before. But I liked him after just seeing him talk for about 5 minutes. And he has good hair! Now I just want to see him in action - I can't wait for 2010! I want to know what he's gonna be wearing, who his companion(s) are and what Moffat can do with it. To be honest I'll just be happy when RTD is gone. It'll take me a while to get over David Tennant leaving, but they've made a good choice (I think) so the transition is gonna be easier. (Although, right up until the last minute I was still hoping for Philip Glenister or Jeremy Clarkson. Hmmm 12th Doctor?)

Demons: The only reason I watched this was for Philip Glenister. His American accent was kinda weird, and the first episode wasn't that great. The 'Demons' were a bit... meh. But I'll watch it again next week cause it's Philip Glenister, and Ashes to Ashes series 2 is taking ages to air. :(

Mummy - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor: I was bored after 10 minutes, I don't like Maria Bello's English accent and, wtf... their son is like 30 and they look 35!?!? They should never have made this movie.

DW: Eleven

So, apparently tomorrow, the eleventh Doctor is getting announced. I'm scared - I don't want to know. What if this goes horribly wrong and they've cast someone really stupid?

On another note: cold weather training camp??? Oh, Top Gear, I love you so much.

Begone, RTD. Begone.

Am I the only person who thought the Doctor Who xmas special was pretty boring? And those weird-ass Cybermen were ridiculous? Is this the crap what we're going to get for the next four episodes before the Mof-man takes over?
